A speech and language evaluation may include any or all of the following:
- Review of the student's school record
- Review of case history
- Consultation with teachers
- Informal observation in the classroom setting
- Informal observation of the student outside of the classroom setting (e.g., the playground)
- Administration of standardized speech and language assessment instruments
- Administration of informal measures of speech and language evaluation, such as oral-motor examination, language sample analysis, review of work samples
Following the assessment, you will be asked to meet with the speech-language pathologist to review the results of the evaluation and the recommendations made based on the results of the assessment.
